■ KIRI (Paulownia)

The paulownia tree, a well-known symbol of Japan, has been revered since ancient times and used in noble crests. Its pattern, known as "Rikyu Kiri," is even used in the woodblocks for karakami (Japanese decorative paper).

The cover of this Goshuincho (temple stamp book) is crafted with original karakami paper made by the renowned "Kyo-Karakami Maruni". Each book is unique, as the character of the karakami paper varies, making yours a one-of-a-kind treasure.

  • Paper Material: Hosho (48 pages) - A high-quality Japanese paper made from Kozo fibers.
  • Size: 11cm x 16cm (approx. 4.3" x 6.3")
  • Binding: Accordion-fold (concertina) binding
  • Durable hardcover for lasting protection
  • Double-layered pages minimize ink bleed-through.
  • Suitable for watercolor, calligraphy ink, and pencils. Pens can also be used; however, very fine-tipped pens like G-pens or fountain pens may cause the paper to scratch or the ink to feather if used with heavy pressure.

This Goshuincho exudes an elegant presence with its subdued colors and dignified design. The cover is crafted from Shiose fabric, typically used for kimonos, and adorned with a Kyo-Kumihimo tassel from "Miyamoto Fusa." The back cover features a luxurious velour fabric.
